Today was my first day back in the weight room for the New Year. In order to have my future clients believe in my abilities as a trainer I will be undergoing a
3 Month Transformation in which I will use all my knowledge to develop a more pleasing figure. Every morning before my first meal I will be taking a picture to show the progression through the training. I will also post my training techniques incase anyone would like to follow it. I think this is a great way not only to get myself ready for training this summer but also to show my clients that you aren't just born with great genetics but have to work for every inch.
My lifting schedule today was pretty light. I haven't trained for 3 weeks as due to the winter holidays. So, I decided to target my full body today with a type of warm up routine. I used a light weight for every exercise, in general I try to use the same weight throughout the full routine. Here is the break down:
Warm up - 20 minute Jump RopeSquats 8 reps x 5 sets
Bench Press 10/8/6/5/5 reps - here I progressively increase the weight
Pull Ups 10 reps x 3 sets
Dead Lifts10/8/5 reps - once again I progressively increased the weight
Cooled down with 15 minutes of
Rope with
aggressive stretching.
Remember, this was just a workout to ease myself back into weight training after 3 weeks off. The reason I do this is so that my body isn't too fatigued and sore. Otherwise it would hamper my other areas of training - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai.
I personally believe that everyone should do a light full body workout when they first get into the gym as a beginner. This way your body will adapt quicker to the stresses and you won't feel as sore in the beginning weeks.
As well as training today I took the initiative to go to the closes book store and get some anatomy and nutrition textbooks to help me familiarize myself with the information again. To be a successful trainer in this field I think you need to absorb as much knowledge as possible. This way, as a trainer, you can adapt to any client situation and have the right solution or know where to get. Once I finish reading these books I will be sure to write a review a share with you all.
Well, this is another day in the books.
